Sarah Barr moved to Devon in the early 90s after building a career in HR in London with Levi Strauss and The Burton Group (now Arcadia). After South West Water and Devon County Council joined Nortel Networks in 1995, Sarah was initially Head of HR for the FWA business in Paignton and then after this business was moved to the US she moved to more specialised HR roles.

Sarah’s final role was as Head of HR Strategy, Talent Strategy and Leadership Development for EMEA. She took early retirement in 2010 after Nortel closed down.

Sarah has previously been a Governor of Churston Ferrers and Stover schools and is currently Trustee of the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust and also involved in local Choir and a small charity which is an offshoot of the DPA.

Stephen Kings gained a History degree from UCW, Aberystwyth in 1973, a PGCE from Bristol University 1976 and a M.Ed. University of Bristol 1986. Stephen began teaching History in 1976. Subsequent posts include Deputy Head at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, Headteacher at Churston Ferrers Grammar School, Brixham from 1997-2007 and a founding Principal at Merchant’s Academy, Bristol.

Tracey has been a Governor at PCSA for over eight years and is one of three LGAB representatives on the BET Board. She is Chair of the Performance and Standards committee having held the P&S portfolio at the LGAB for several years.

Tracey was a Biomedical Scientist in the Chemical Pathology Department at Torbay Hospital for ten years and so, with a particular interest in science, she has close links with the Science Faculty.

Jo Florence is a member of staff at Paignton Community and Sports Academy, working as the Health and Wellbeing Deputy Coordinator.

Having attending PCSA herself, many years ago, she is now a married mum of three with one of her children having gone through PCSA, one currently going through the Academy and her third child currently at primary school.

Jo is the Board Director with the responsibility for Safeguarding and Behaviour in the Trust, having worked previously as the Safeguarding Lead for the Local Authority. She is also the Vice-Chair of Governors at Oldway Primary School.

Wendy has been involved with the voluntary sector for over forty years. She is Chair of the National Residents Scrutiny Panel for Sanctuary Hosing and is Secretary of Foxhole Community Centre, having been with them since 2005.

Having lived in Foxhole Estate for over twenty five years, Wendy was asked to join the Governors at Foxhole Juniors in 2002, was involved with the Transition through to Kings Ash Academy, then became Chair of the Governors Board from 2003 until the Joint Local Advisory Group. Thanks to her involvement with Kings Ash Academy, she was asked to join the BET representing Ethos and Culture.

She is committed to working hard for the Trust and looks forward to helping where she can.
